Art Week Challenge 2025
The Week commencing 20th October is Art Week at Mildmay. We’ll all be attending an art based assembly and taking part in some additional art sessions during the week – including another ‘Superpower of Looking’ lesson and workshop.
Additionally, we’d like to launch a competition for all children to enter if they wish. This year we’re challenging every child at Mildmay to Paint, draw or make a self-portrait using whatever art materials they like or have to hand. Children could use sticks and leaves in the woods, collage, play-doh, their most treasured gel-pens or something more traditional like paint or pencils. The artwork can be figurative or fantastic, influenced by an artist, drawn in a mirror or made from pure imagination – ANY self-portrait goes.
Once complete we ask that parents photograph the artwork (so it doesn’t have to come to school if fragile, immovable or temporary) and send it with the child’s name and class to competition@mildmayprimary.org before the competition closing date of Wednesday 5th November, 2025.
We hope many of the children will be enthused to explore their artistic talents and submit an entry. There will be prizes for winners in each year group.
