Partial Closure - WEDNESDAY

As you may have heard already, the Met office have upgraded the weather warning for Wednesday (and potentially Thursday) to RED in Essex. This means we could have temperatures in excess of 37C in the shade.

With the approval of the Bridge Academy Trust CEO, I have therefore decided on a ‘Partial Closure’ on Wednesday and will be asking ALL parents to collect their children at 12 midday. Please arrange for collection from the usual locations at this earlier time – collecting younger children first.

No lunches will be available as it isn’t safe to ask that the kitchen staff prepare hot meals at these extremes. If you are unable to collect your child at 12 midday, please send them in with a packed-lunch; however, if your child must remain at school and is eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), we will be able to provie a roll, fruit and a drink for their lunch.

IF my Risk Assessment on Wednesday shows similar temperatures expected on Thursday, we will again close early with the same arrangements in place – I will notify you of the outcome of the Risk Assessment for Thursday no later than 11.00am on Wednesday.

I hope that you will understand the reasonining for this short-notice closure. Please ONLY advise us via parents@mildmayprimary.org, if you child will need to stay at school. We will assume non-attendance for everyone else and mark registers as ‘partial closure - not required in school’.
